Fixing Teeth Day by Day

It’s always fun to do something dramatic like a smile makeover or implant supported dentures, but there are many rewards in our day to day work as well.

When you add up how many teeth we save and restore in any given week, month, or year, the impact of the routine things we do can be surprising. And, it makes us feel good.

Some of these routine treatments we do every week include:

Professional teeth cleaning – When we clean your teeth we are keeping the bacteria in your mouth from getting out of control. This can prevent periodontal gum disease, losing teeth, and even serious medical conditions. Having a clean smile and fresh breath feels good, too.

In addition to cleaning your teeth we will be checking for oral cancer and any issues that put your teeth or health at risk.

Periodontal Therapy – Gum disease usually requires additional visits with the hygienist where she works at removing tartar, bacteria, and restoring the gums to health. Without treatment teeth would be lost and the bacteria in the mouth could contribute to dangerous conditions like diabetes, cancer, heart disease, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and more.

Filling cavities – Cavities are literally holes in your teeth. If they weren’t filled the teeth would become diseased, break, and eventually be lost.

Dental crowns – Putting a crown on a tooth is like giving it a suit of armor. When teeth are damaged and at risk, we use crowns to restore and protect them.

Implants and bridges – Sometimes teeth can’t be saved and when that happens it is important to put something in their place to protect your other teeth from excess force or tipping. It always feels good to give someone back a tooth they have lost.

Whitening Smiles – Teeth whitening is very popular and something we do often for our patients. It’s a simple way to enhance smiles and help people feel more confident.

Smile Repairs or Makeovers – When teeth are cracked, chipped, or unsightly we can restore them to look and feel better. Not all smile makeovers are a big deal. Sometimes, it’s just one or two teeth that need a little help.

In retrospect, the little things we do make a big difference in our patient’s lives. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve the many members of our patient family this way.  We care about each and every one of you and thank you for choosing us to help you enjoy a healthy happy smile.
